An excerpt from Chapter Twenty-six of Noel Carol's book, LEFT UNREAD, titled Sacrifice Change …
A most certain way to help mend a broken heart is to find it within oneself to forgive – not only the other person but oneself as well. In fact, the sooner we can bring our minds and hearts to a state of forgiveness, the sooner we heal. That, too, is a challenging state of mind to embrace wholeheartedly. It became a powerful force for Noel once he began to apply that truth to his own life. But trust me; whatever he was about to learn wasn’t necessarily going to develop overnight, nor was it going to stick with him forever without unwanted interruptions cropping up along the way, either.
Noel Carol and his alter ego, Leon Papillon, have paired up to present this exclusive line of wall prints - suitable for any decor, whether that be in your home, an office setting, or in any commercial building, where all can experience the warm vibe that emanates from these designs. They range in a variety of 12 sizes from 6" x 6" all the way up to 40" x 60".
Noel created the original drawing in 2002 while in the middle of a crisis, not quite knowing how to wrap his mind around dealing with a situation that had set him back a few notches. In the midst of struggling with whether or not he could forgive a special someone, he sketched what he initially described as being the number "7", with its reflection being cast. He then began to view it as kind of like he was walking with his arms swinging wildly in a hurried attempt to escape the turbulence he was experiencing at the time - struggling with his identity, fighting off demons daily, dealing with a broken heart, while also trying to find a way to forgive.
The drawing also inspired a new song to be written, titled Sacrifice Change. The complete story is told in Chapter Twenty-six of the same title as the song. Noel's book, LEFT UNREAD The Stories behind the Songs of Noel Carol, should be on virtual and physical store shelves before the end of 2025. You can read the introduction to the book here.
Another anomaly that he discovered after the sketch was completed is that, from a slight distance, it appeared as though the drawing transformed into what he believes is an abstract profile of himself. Of course, art is subjective to each individual who views it. But who knows, perhaps you'll either see yourself or someone else in the drawing. Thank you for your support.
If or when you consider building your personal collection of Leon Papillon originales, we hope you'll also consider gifting one, two, or even three additional pieces to people on your gift list. We've got a wide variety of Wall Prints by Leon Papillon, Coffee MUGS by Mister Muggoo, T-shirts by Who Gives a Shirt?, Noel Carol Songs that you can download, his book, titled LEFT UNREAD The Stories behind the Songs of Noel Carol, and even a compilation CD of 15 indie artists, titled Straight from the Streets that Noel produced a few years back while living as a homeless street busker.
