BEHIND THE SCENES

What began as the story of a struggling songwriter was to become a prophetic message that took 30 years to deliver—one Noel Carol is willing to die for if it were to come to that.

Where It All Began

February 9, 1964. Eight-year-old Noel Carol watched The Beatles perform on The Ed Sullivan Show and decided, in that moment, to become a musician. He got his first guitar at 10, wrote his first songs at 11, and formed his first band at 14. What began as a childhood dream became a 50-year journey through music, heartbreak, and prophecy.

The Prophetic Songs

In 1995, facing homelessness following a divorce, Noel began writing a 13-minute, 7-second song called "Drifting Lost at Sea." It took 2.5 years to finish—and 22 years to understand. Some lyrics he planned to rewrite, until he woke up one night knowing they weren't his to change. They were God's half of a conversation he was transcribing. The lyrics foreshadowed his life before he lived it.

Five years later, ready to quit his pursuit of music forever, he wrote "Left Unread". The moment he finished writing the lyrics to the chorus, he knew he'd write a book by the same name. But 22 years would pass before he sat down to write it. The songs were blueprints to a life he hadn't yet lived. The book reveals how every word came true.

Musical Influences

Noel grew up listening to Lennon and McCartney, Simon and Garfunkel, Gordon Lightfoot, Leonard Cohen, Pink Floyd, and Led Zeppelin, among many others. His compositions blend melodic storytelling with unexpected key changes, tempo shifts, and emotional arcs that take listeners on a journey from calm to chaos and back again. Every song is a world unto itself. He's been described as a modern-day Mozart.

The Creative Process

Noel writes from extremes—hope and despair, love and anger, forgiveness and betrayal. His songs are brutally honest, deeply personal, and unapologetically vulnerable, weaving life's contradictions into music that resonates with anyone who's ever struggled, loved, or lost.

What's Happening Now

After a performing hiatus since 2004, Noel is returning to the live music scene with intimate house concerts across Western Canada. He's promoting his songs, his forthcoming memoir LEFT UNREAD, and his visual art—all extensions of the same story.

His message cuts deeper than music. It's about transformation, redemption, and a truth that took 30 years to deliver. The songs hinted at it. The book reveals it.

The full story is in the book. Coming March 2026.
