About Noel Carol

ABOUT NOEL CAROL

What began as the story of a struggling songwriter was to become a prophetic message that took 30 years to deliver—one that Noel Carol is willing to die for if it were to come to that.

In 1995, sensing inevitable homelessness, Noel began writing, what turned out to be a 13-minute, 7-second song called "Drifting Lost at Sea." It took 2.5 years to finish.

The lyrics to one particular verse made no sense to him at the time of writing them, but he left them there for the time being with the intent of replacing them later. It wasn't until the early hours of the morning, when he finished writing the last two verses to the song, that he realized they weren't his to change. Unknown to Noel, his song was a two-way conversation, and those nonsensical lyrics were GOD's response to what he had already written. This revelation came to him in his sleep, awakening him instantly. Pulling himself out of bed, he finished writing the song there and then. The song was finally finished, but he wasn't able to grasp what any of it meant until 22 years were to pass.

In 2000, at the end of a 5-year self-imposed deadline to make his mark as a songwriter, Noel was ready to quit. Then he wrote "Left Unread"—the song that was to change his life forever. The moment he finished writing the chorus, the inspiration to write the book of the same title was revealed to him. The title was a given: LEFT UNREAD The Stories Behind the Songs of Noel Carol. But 22 years were to also elapse before he would sit down to write it.

Many of Noel's songs were blueprints to a life he hadn't yet lived. The book reveals how every word came true. And the pattern of 22 years—twice—wasn't an accident. It was prophecy being fulfilled.

Noel Carol is a BC-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, visual artist, and published author with over 50 years of musical experience. After a performing hiatus since 2004, he is returning to the live music scene with intimate house concerts across Western Canada (2026), promoting his songs, his newly-published memoir LEFT UNREAD, and his visual art.

And commencing June 1, 2027, he expects he'll be hitting the road to do a cross-Canada busking tour, retracing his original steps of 1998 that brought him to British Columbia to begin with. Keep watch for this upcoming journey by signing up for email updates. And be sure to check out Noel's blog, Maggie's Corner, which will give additional updates on his upcoming journey.

His message is simple, yet profound. It's woven throughout his book, as the entire message slowly becomes revealed to him over the process of several decades. You must read the book to find out how he discovered forgiveness and the love of self by means of discovering GOD's immense love for us. This is his view today:

"I'm still broke. Still unknown. Still without success as the world defines it. But I finally succeeded on a different level: I sought first the Kingdom of GOD, trusting that everything else is to be provided according to His will".

And in the end, the prophetic lyrics he wrote, saying, "I'll not end up like some book on a shelf, left unread", have since manifested. No, he simply wrote the book instead.
